How it works

Pick two places (or click the map). The planner runs an A* least-cost search on a 400 m Earth Engine grid of population, protected areas, terrain and the AIP airspace, then reports flight time (NASA mission profile) against the road alternative, energy against the aircraft's reserve-limited range (FAA Part 194 / 20 % reserve), residents within ±200 m and ±700 m of the corridor versus the straight line, and every airspace volume crossed. Every parameter is documented with its source in Reference → Methods.

Shuttle logic from the CAASL 30-minute envelope: aircraft per leg = ⌈(2 × block + 2 × turnaround) ÷ headway⌉. Fare default is the ministry's USD 20–30 BIA–Colombo indication; energy price is an assumption. Compute a scenario above to populate.
